Day 10 – Grand Junction to Mesquite NV

Ok, I’m too cheap to pay the extra 10 bucks at a casino for Internet access, so I’m doing this on the iPhone .

Today there was not a cloud in the sky and the forecast for the route said zero percent chance of rain! But windy and cooler, which is a nice tradeoff. Was cool enough that we wore our jackets for half the day. We stopped for lunch at About 1:30 we qent thru Zipn again and when we arrived in Mesquite at 5:00 pm, it was proba ly only 90.
Tomorrows game plan is rolling by 6 or 7 to beat the desert heat, but Vegas forecast is only a high of 95, so at least it isn’t the triple digits . Nice !!!

Again, we r having fun reading ur comments ! Dean, u got a giggle out of Shai on that one 🙂

I gotta ditto what Dean said – where's the pics of Jim getting busted? Sounds like Shai has a cool head on his shoulders, though. Probably not a good idea to be snapping pics of the cops 'doing their job'. You two sure got an early start, just like you wanted! Past Vegas already and I'm still enjoying my morning coffee! Nice pic of Shai, Jim. I'm kinda getting used to all this fancy technology – posting from a phone! Looking forward to more news, pics & SPOT tracking throughout the day. Be safe, have fun, take lots of pics and let's hear from Shai one more time!!

Well, you just passed Barstow – looks like home today. Another Iron Butt day for Shai. Hope you're having better weather than we are – thunder, lightening this morning and steady downpour ever since. OK by me, my flowers need a good, long drink and I need to catch up on indoor stuff – like watching you get home 🙂 Good thing my indoor projects are in the same room as my computer. Safe Home!

Looks like you arrive at home while we were out sailing. Glad you are back safe and sound, although we will again miss the morning news of your progress. And the budding photographer did an awesome job of catching the storm.
